Forced circulation for vegetable and tomato concentrates

Review vegetable-concentrate duties with attention to particle preparation, viscosity change, pump passages, withdrawal and hygienic cleaning.

Characterise the prepared feed

State how the vegetable feed has been screened or prepared and whether solids are measured as mass solids or by another method. Describe the particle and fibre distribution. These conditions determine the questions for passages, suspension and pump selection.

Evaluate the concentrated end

Use the intended final concentrate when discussing viscosity, pressure loss and product withdrawal. Review restart after cooling as well as normal operation. A feed sample alone may not represent the most demanding operating point.

Agree a representative trial

Where product behaviour is uncertain, use a sample and test conditions that reflect the proposed concentration path. Record product quality, deposits and cleaning recovery alongside the evaporation balance before confirming equipment performance.

Information to include in your enquiry

  • Feed preparation method
  • Particle and fibre distribution
  • Final concentration and viscosity
  • Trial and cleaning acceptance

MODULE 01

Circulation pump & drive

Keep the loop moving. The circulation pump sets the flow through the heater. That flow is distinct from the incoming feed and from the mass of water evaporated. Selection must follow the concentrated liquid throughout the planned operating range, including start-up and restart after cooling.

MODULE 02

External heater

Add heat under pressure. In the common non-boiling heater arrangement, pressure in the circuit limits boiling within the heater. Heat is added before the liquid enters the flash zone. Tube or plate geometry is selected from product behaviour and pressure-drop constraints, rather than the circulation label alone.

MODULE 05

Concentrate discharge package

Control the product leaving the loop. Withdrawal and fresh feed must remain consistent with the water-removal duty and circulating inventory. The discharge equipment is selected for final concentrate properties, which may differ substantially from feed properties.
